RELai and Aleph Alpha Collaborate.

RELai joins forces with Aleph Alpha, Europe’s leading generative AI organisation, to revolutionise mental healthcare.

We are thrilled to announce that RELai and Aleph Alpha will collaborate, with Aleph Alpha’s ‘Luminous’ as the default Large Language Model powering RELai’s services. This collaboration will enable us to continue our vital work in building an AI-based mental health solution that is efficient, scalable, and economical.

Our partnership with Aleph Alpha is critical to our progress, as we share a common vision and values. Jonas Andrulis, founder and CEO of Aleph Alpha, stressed his commitment towards improving mental health care and supporting the underprivileged. This aligns with our vision and mission of making mental healthcare accessible to all.

Besides, our decision to opt for Luminous is primarily for three reasons.

  1. Privacy - We deem privacy as a fundamental human right. The nature of the subject we deal with is very sensitive, which means the user data must be protected at all costs. As our data centres are based in Germany, our user’s data will be safeguarded by the GDPR, which is superior to the rest by any metric.
  2. Technology - Aleph Alpha’s Luminous will be trained on ~300 billion parameters. The enormous size of these parameters can increase the model’s capacity to learn complex patterns in data, leading to superior performance compared to the rest.
  3. Multilingual Approach - All language models by Aleph Alpha have been trained on a curated multilingual corpus containing sources in English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish, with the size of language tokens ranging from ~400 billion to ~588 billion for the smallest and largest model respectively. This allows our AI solution to be used by a vast European population without any language barrier, which is one of the potential limitations of the current digital health solutions.

To maintain the safety of our AI solution during building and deployment, our teams collaborate closely to analyse and consolidate shared insights. These insights guide us in continuously improving our services, shaping our future research, and establishing industry best practices for responsibly utilising these potent AI systems for mental healthcare.

We look forward to continued collaboration and advancing this progress with Aleph Alpha.
